While members of royalty may have hungered for 'Pheasant Under Glass,' green-starved gardeners are pining for the warmth and abundance of spring and the promise of a brand new season. I know I'm 'recycling' several of these photos, but it's all for a good cause. Scrolling through the iPhoto library, my winter-weary eye kept wandering over to these tender reminders that soon, we'll be surrounded by such extravagant technicolor displays, ranging from gentle shades to explosive, vibrating hues.
I thought, "Why not gather them all together, to brighten this gray, rainy day?" Then, since these specimens were flourishing in a greenhouse, Pleasant Under Glass seemed a logical title.
Where are you finding a preview of spring, these days?
Plan an excursion to some of your favorite garden and nature blogs, and chances are that you'll find just enough inspiration to get you through to spring! Bon voyage!
We also extend special thanks to Barbara O'Brien, owner of The Greenery in Rye, NH, in and around whose greenhouses, many glorious photographs (including this garden pond) were taken by Shutterbug.

Very cute title! :-) The floral display is as lovely as it is diverse. Cheers for the photo of the Christmas Cactus in the header!
Thanks, Shady... it sure beats the buckets of cold rain bouncing up from the frozen tundra, below the bird feeders. The poor little guys have it pretty hard today.
We turn the clocks ahead tonight, for daylight savings time - can spring be far behind?
Thank you again, for noticing the header... Sam hasn't said anything about the change, so I assume that "no news is good news." ... Deb
